WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 16, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, Canada's Environment Minister Peter Kent, following a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, announced that Canada has joined the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, as part of Canada's commitment to reducing global emissions from short-lived climate pollutants.
"Canada is pleased to be the newest member of the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves," said Minister Kent. "By paving the way for the use of clean cookstoves in developing countries, we will help cut down harmful soot emissions."
