New Canada Post Mom Squad to offer online shopping tips, insights and season's greetings
OTTAWA, Nov. 16, 2016 /CNW/ - The holidays are here, and with roughly 80 per cent of Canadians now shopping online, it's poised to be another record-breaking season. Delivering nearly two out of every three online orders, Canada Post expects to see double-digit e-commerce parcel volume growth in November and December. Only Santa will deliver more than Canada Post.
Throughout the holiday season, the company estimates it will deliver:
December 12 is forecasted to be the busiest day of the year for delivery agents and retail stores across the country, with an anticipated 3,500 parcels delivered each minute.
The Canada Post and the holidays by the numbers infographic provides more predictions and insights.
To help Canadians prepare for and enjoy the holidays, Canada Post is extending retail hours and will begin delivering on the weekends in major urban centres, starting in Toronto November 13 and elsewhere on November 27.
The Canada Post Mom Squad
This year, Canada Post is offering more advice and insight to make the holidays a little easier. They all have young kids and work at Canada Post in various departments. You can find the latest Mom Squad activities on Canada Post's social media channels and at canadapost.ca/magazine. They are also available for interviews.
