EDMONTON, May 2, 2019 /CNW/ - A little more than six months into the legalization of adult recreational use cannabis in Canada and with the next wave of products (edibles, drinks and vaping) expected to hit the market in the fall, industry insiders will be coming together for the second WE Cann™ Conference to share insights into this rapidly changing landscape and address future opportunities for growth.
Co-presented by TheCannalysts and Grant Thornton LLP, this one-day conference will feature keynotes, panel discussions and the opportunity to network with leaders from the agricultural, scientific, health and wellness, retail, finance and manufacturing industries.
"The significant economic growth and development that this burgeoning industry has brought to many Canadian communities is something we should celebrate," said Trisha LeBlanc, national cannabis industry leader at Grant Thornton. "The future looks bright with opportunities for products, technologies and services all along the supply chain, but we need to continue to be forward-thinkers and innovators for Canada to maintain its leadership position."
With 19 licensed producers and 75 retail cannabis outlets – 22 of which are in the Edmonton and surroundings areas – Alberta is quickly becoming a major hub of Canada's cannabis production.
