Canada-Wide Philanthropic Contest - A Saskatchewan Charity Wins the Public's Hearts and $125,000
QUEBEC, Dec. 11, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Mental Health Association – Swift Current Branch, in Saskatchewan, wins the grand prize of $125,000 iA Financial Group's second annual Canada-wide philanthropic contest, announced in September.
Among the ten finalists, the Centre prevention suicide du Kamouraska-Rivière-du-Loup-Témiscouata-Les‑Basques (KRTB) in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, and Pathstone Foundation in St. Catharines, Ontario, came in second and third respectively. They each win a donation of $50,000. The remaining seven finalists each receive a donation of $10,000.
"I'd like to thank the participating charities for the quality of the propositions submitted as well as the public for voting in such large numbers. We were once again touched by the wave of solidarity across the country throughout the contest", comments Denis Ricard, President and Chief Executive Officer of iA Financial Group.
The purpose of the contest was to provide financial support to a Canadian charity that works with people living with mental health issues. The dozens of submissions received were carefully reviewed by the jury, who selected the ten finalists. The public then voted on the submissions they found most inspiring.
