Canada's 2010 Flag Bearer Clara Hughes Will Lead Team of 206 Athletes into
the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games

Hughes is the only athlete in the world to win multiple Olympic medals at both Summer and Winter Games as part of a career that will now span five Olympic Games.

Among these athletes are myriad interesting storylines and highlights to watch for, just a few of which are noted here:
- Brian McKeever (Calgary) becomes the first athlete to compete in both the Olympic Winter and Paralympic Winter Games, in the sport of cross-country skiing. - The women's hockey team will aim for a third straight Olympic title - and if successful many of the players will tie Marc Gagnon for the most winter gold medals with three. - The speed skating team, with Hughes, looks to continue their Olympic magic and improve on their (Canadian record) eight-medal total from 2006. - The team includes six 2009 world champions: Ashleigh McIvor, ski cross; Charles Hamelin, short track speed skating - 500 metres; Jasey-Jay Anderson, snowboard, parallel giant slalom; Christine Nesbitt, speed skating - 1,000 metres, team pursuit; Kristina Groves, speed skating - team pursuit; and Brittany Schussler, speed skating - team pursuit. - The team has 32 returning medallists from Turin 2006: Chandra Crawford, Sara Renner, Jenn Heil, Clara Hughes, Cindy Klassen, Kristina Groves, Christine Nesbitt, Shannon Rempel, Denny Morrison, Pierre Lueders, Lascelles Brown, Jeff Pain, Melissa Hollingsworth, Dominique Maltais, Francois-Louis Tremblay, Charles Hamelin, Kalyna Roberge, Tania Vicent and 14 women's ice hockey players. - Nine provinces and one territory are represented by athletes in the 2010 Canadian Olympic Team.
