TORONTO, Nov. 13, 2012 /CNW/ - Investigators concluded the following:
Marineland staff and management were open and co-operative.
All the water in the pools was clear and clean.
None of the animals in the water appeared to be experiencing discomfort.
Staff levels were sufficient to conduct the needed training, feeding and maintain cleanliness.
All of the animals held in the enclosures were inspected and appeared to be in good health with no signs of eye or skin problems.
Two of the older sea lions were receiving medication for long-standing eye issues that were identified as age related.
There were no signs of bleeding or injury on Kiska the Orca. Kiska appeared to be in good health and was eating her normal ration of fish.
And Marineland is delighted to report that all the walruses are doing extremely well. Smooshi the walrus has been putting on weight and interacting well with all of her trainers and other walruses.
All of Marineland's animals are treated with dignity and love by our caring staff and management.
