TORONTO, Oct. 22, 2018 /CNW/ - Nominations for the 2019 Canada's CFO of the Year™ Award are now open. Applications are being accepted at www.cfoy.ca. In its 17th year, the Award honours senior financial leaders who have made significant contributions to business in Canada with demonstrated quality, insight and integrity.
Chief Financial Officers from any business sector across Canada can be nominated for the Award and are considered based on the following six criteria:
- Inspirational Leadership
- Business Performance
- Social Responsibility
- Innovation
- Demonstrating Financial Accountability
- Mentoring and Development
The Award, presented by Financial Executives International Canada (FEI Canada), PwC Canada and Robert Half, recognizes an individual who best exemplifies the evolving role of the CFO, which has advanced from the traditional perception of them primarily as financial expert to that of a strategic, influential and essential member of the C-suite.
A shortlist of finalists will be announced on March 5, 2019 and the recipient of the Award will be revealed at a gala dinner at The Ritz Carlton in Toronto on April 25, 2019.
Previous recipients of Canada's CFO of the Year Award include a diverse range of top industry leaders from across Canada:
- 2018 – Nathalie Bernier, Senior Vice President, Strategic and Business Planning and Chief Financial Officer of Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP)
- 2017 – Michael Rousseau, Executive Vice President & CFO of Air Canada
- 2016 – Gord Nelson, Chief Financial Officer of Cineplex Inc.
- 2015 – Dean McCann, Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Canadian Tire Corp. Ltd.
- 2014 – Janice Fukakusa, Chief Administration Officer and Chief Financial Officer, RBC
