Canada's food and consumer products manufacturers call federal budget a vote of confidence
OTTAWA, March 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Canada's food and consumer product manufacturers are encouraged by today's federal budget and are pleased to see that the Harper government continues to recognize the value in supporting the manufacturing industry.
Food & Consumer Products of Canada (FCPC) is pleased to see the government extend the Accelerated Capital Cost Allowance beyond its current 2013 expiry date. This move will help ensure our industry continues to innovate and is better positioned to respond to a competitive global market.
FCPC says the incentives in today's budget and the focus on skills trade will help provide our sector with additional tools to compete in a global marketplace and sustain and create jobs here in Canada.
We are also looking forward to working with the government as they create a national strategy to help meet the labour needs of the manufacturing industry, which includes the new Canada Job Grant.
