TORONTO, April 23, 2012 /CNW/ - Following another talent-packed performance show, the votes poured in for what was the closest finalist race to date during Week 4 of the Canada's Got Talent semifinals. In the emotional, live results show earlier this evening on Citytv, host Dina Pugliese revealed that New Brunswick's country singer Ivan Daigle was the highest vote-getter and would be advancing to the Canada's Got Talent finals. Of the acts who placed second and third amongst voters, judges Martin Short, Measha Brueggergosman and Stephan Moccio selected Hamilton, ON rapper Mathew Cathcart to join Daigle in the finals.
Daigle and Cathcart will perform in the Canada's Got Talent finals on May 13 alongside previously announced finalists rock band Angry Candy (Moncton, NB), opera singer Emilio Fina (Petersburg, ON), hip hop dance group Freshh (Vancouver), opera singer Julie Lafontaine (Montreal), solo dancer Shale Wagman (Toronto) and beatboxer Scott Jackson (Toronto).
