Canada's Grocers get recruitment help!
"Organizations which excel at leveraging diversity will maintain access to a broader pool of talent and will experience better financial performance because they are better able to serve an ever more diverse customer base," says
The free Workplace Diversity Directory (www.cfic-ccia.ca/wdd) and website (www.cfic-ccia.ca) will provide grocery retailers with resources to recruit and retain underrepresented demographic groups (Aboriginal persons, new Canadians, older workers, women in management, and persons with disabilities), and connect with agencies serving these constituencies to develop workforce integration strategies.
The directory allows users to search for services and funding programs available to employers, while the website provides career information and HR resources to help recruit and retain underrepresented demographic groups. The website is also WC3 (http://www.w3.org/) compliant, making it accessible to persons with a disability.
Funded by the Government of Canada's Sector Council Program, the Canadian Food Industry Council (CFIC) is a nationally recognized, non-profit organization that brings together representatives from business, labour, education, industry associations, government and other professional groups to support a collective response to the food retail/wholesale industry's human resource challenges.
