EDMONTON, May 9, 2013 /CNW/ - Science Rendezvous, Canada's national science festival is bigger and better than ever.
This Saturday over 2,000 of Canada's greatest innovators, researchers, engineers, and scientists, from 80 partner organizations will open their doors and close city streets to present exciting demonstrations, hands-on activities, and explosive experiments.
Sparking the curiosity of young minds, Science Rendezvous has something for the whole family from the chemistry of ice cream to the physics of rock and roll.
Science Rendezvous is truly an iconic national event. Across Canada, there will be experiments and activities for the kids, lectures for the adults, and interactive demonstrations for people of all ages. It's all FREE!
Science Rendezvous Edmonton at the TELUS World of Science
Experience floating bubbles, floating bowling balls, make goop, and try hands-on chemistry experiments! Plus a T-shirt cannon, scanning electron microscope, seismometers, Canadian Blood Services booth and many other exhibits that will satisfy the curiosity of kids of all ages.
Science Rendezvous will feature the following interactive activity tables:
- Chemical Institute of Canada
- EPCOR: water purification and waste water treatment
- University of Alberta Physics Department: seismometers and geophones
- CMASTE: scanning electron microscope
- Ross Sheppard High School: kitchen chemistry demos
- Polar Science with students from Grandview Elementary
- The Canadian Nuclear Society
- Kidney Care Services: blood pressure clinic
All Science Rendezvous activities are included with a General Admission ticket.
