MONCTON, NB, Nov. 17 /CNW/ - Lymbix Inc. announced today that it has been selected to join the Microsoft BizSpark One program. The BizSpark One program is an invitation-only program uniquely designed to accelerate the growth of a select group of high potential startups through a one-to-one relationship with Microsoft Corp. and a global community of advisors, investors, and peers. Since its inception, only 4 Canadian companies have been invited into the program.
Lymbix was first introduced to Microsoft in 2009 when they began developing ToneCheckTM for Outlook. ToneCheck, free for individual use, helps users craft more effective e-mail communication by gauging how a reader might interpret the tone of a sender's e-mail message. When applied at the Enterprise level, ToneCheck can help deliver improved customer service and protect against the abusive or inappropriate use of email by an employee.
Lymbix is the thought-leader in the development of sentiment intelligence: the ability to measure the tone and emotional impact of words in everyday written language including in email, chat, on the web, in social media, via 3rd party applications, or in any form of text-based communication.
ToneCheck uses the Lymbix ToneAPI to provide its analysis based on 8 primary emotions in addition to positive/negative/neutral - beyond the capabilities of existing sentiment analysis engines. The ToneAPI is currently available, and will allow developers and partners to incorporate sentiment intelligence into their product and solutions.
"We are thrilled to have been invited to participate in this program," explains Matt Eldridge, Founder and CEO of Lymbix. "Having access to the best and brightest at Microsoft is an exciting realization for our team. We look forward to sharing our capabilities with Microsoft and to taking advantage of product development and marketing resources, as well as introductions to Microsoft technology partners, channel partners and customers."
Microsoft has expressed its commitment to serving as a technology and business partner for emerging startups and their investors through the development of BizSpark One. The program has paired Lymbix with a dedicated relationship manager at Microsoft who will work to build a tailored plan to promote visibility, expand its network of investors and mentors, expose it to business opportunities and lend product development support.
"We evaluate hundreds of technology startups each year and only select those with the strongest potential to be members of BizSpark One," explained Matthew Clark, Senior Director of Microsoft's Emerging Business Team. "We couldn't be more excited to welcome Lymbix to the team, and we look forward to helping it accelerate its success."
"The misinterpretation of text in email and on the web is a major pain point for businesses and individuals alike," says Eldridge. "Our focus is on reducing that confusion. We like to think we're doing our part in helping the world communicate more clearly."
