Canada's New Favourite Drama SAVING HOPE Wraps Season with 1.54 Million Viewers on CTV

TORONTO, Sept. 14, 2012 /CNW/ - Season 1 of Canada's new favourite drama SAVING HOPE wrapped last night, ending the season as the #1 Canadian drama of the 2011-12 broadcast year. The series also ranks as Canada's #1 new summer series and a Top 3 summer series overall, with an impressive Season 1 average of 1.7 million viewers. Overall, CTV claims three out of the Top 5, most-watched Canadian dramas of the 2011-12 broadcast year.

In a climatic season finale that saw Alex (Erica Durance) left at the altar and Charlie (Michael Shanks) coming to grips with his new reality, SAVING HOPE delivered an impressive 1.54 million viewers last night on CTV. The stand alone episode of SAVING HOPE was up +8% with total viewers, up 14% with A25-54, and up 3% with A18-49, versus last week.
Online, social networks were buzzing with all things SAVING HOPE with close to 10,000 mentions in the week leading up to last night's finale.* Viewers can catch encore episodes of the entire first season of SAVING HOPE, Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginning tomorrow (Sept. 15) on CTV Two.
At 8 p.m. CTV and CTV Two delivered a one-two-three punch, claiming the Top 3 programs in the hour. An encore episode of THE BIG BANG THEORY delivered 1.93 million viewers, winning the night with total viewers and A25-54, while at 8:30 p.m., an encore episode of TWO AND A HALF MEN delivered 1.58 million viewers. Over on CTV Two, this season's second episode of THE X FACTOR delivered 930,000 viewers, #3 in the hour with total viewers and all key demos.
