CANADA'S ROYAL WINNIPEG BALLET RETURNS TO REGINA

REGINA, Nov. 23 /CNW/ - Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet presents WONDERLAND, a dynamic re-interpretation of Lewis Carroll's beloved classic, at the Conexus Arts Centre for a one-night-only performance on March 17, 2011.

WONDERLAND presents a contemporary and mature re-envisioning of the tale's characters, events, and themes that will surprise and delight audiences of all ages. The familiar characters of Alice, The Queen of Hearts, The White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter are all on hand, displaying generous doses of wit, camp and humour. The surreal and dark elements that lurk at the original story's fringes are bravely realized in explosive passages of breathtaking dance and innovative multimedia. This is Alice like you've never seen her before!

Saskatchewan's own Shawn Hounsell, acclaimed choreographer and RWB alumnus, has transformed WONDERLAND into a multi-sensory experience, with edgy and athletic movement, an inventive electro-acoustic soundscape and unexpected visual treats.

The celebrated artistic and production team for WONDERLAND includes John Estacio and Brian Current, Orchestral Arrangements; Anne Armit, Costume Design; Guillaume Lord, Set Design; Hugh Conacher, Lighting Design; Nicolas Bernier, Soundscape Design; Jimmu Lakatos and Mathieu St-Arnaud for TURBINE, Video Production Design.
