Canada's Smartest and Greenest IT Departments to be Announced at Gala Event
June 16th, 2010
LONDON, ON, May 31 /CNW/ - Info-Tech Research Group in association with IT World Canada will announce the winners of The Quest for Canada's Smartest & Greenest IT Departments at a gala event in Toronto on Wednesday, June 16th, 2010. The event is the culmination of a four month quest across the country by the research firm to seek out and celebrate IT departments that are using technology in smart and innovative ways to drive value for their customers, employees and communities.
"While combing the country for Canada's smartest and greenest IT departments we have heard many great stories of success and innovation in IT," said James Alexander, Chief Enthusiasm Officer for the quest and Senior Vice President for Info-Tech Research Group. "Typically IT workers fly under the radar as long as things are running smoothly. Recognition for their hard work is long overdue and we look forward to sharing some of the stories we have heard at the gala."
It promises to be an exciting event as the day-to-day unsung heroes of IT are recognized as members of the Smartest IT or Greenest IT in Canada class of 2010. IT practitioners, analysts, and vendors from across the country will come together to share their stories and celebrate. Event sponsors include IBM, Compugen, Samsung, Virtual Causeway and D-Link Networks. The program has been supported by association sponsors CATA, Think Green Alliance, Sustainable Waterloo and Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI).
The celebration will be held at Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto, Ontario from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm on June 16th, 2010. Steam Whistle Brewery is a green facility and along with Info-Tech Research Group, is a member of the Think Green Alliance. To register for the event visit http://www.smartest-it.ca/the_event.htm .
