Calling it a key strategic move, company opens office in Maine, sees more with signs of improved economy
SACO, ME, April 16 /CNW/ - T4G Limited, a North American project-based IT professional services company that has bucked many trends with prudent growth through difficult economic times, announces a major expansion in the United States.
"This is one of our most important growth initiatives ever," says T4G President Geoff Flood. "Over the years, we've been delivering quality services from Canada to large U.S.-based customers like Macy's, L.L. Bean and many more. And it's time for a strong physical presence in the country where so many companies have entrusted us with what we call 'heart surgery' for their critical information systems."
Mr. Flood adds, "Establishing a formal presence in the U.S. has always been a strategic objective since we began T4G in 1995. Now is the right time to act. We see signs that the global economy - and the U.S. economy, in particular - is improving. We have a track record of positioning our company for growth and we believe smart companies move early when opportunities arise."
To launch the expansion, T4G has hired veteran IT executive B.J. Carter to lead the U.S. operation, opened an office in Saco, Maine and begun a recruiting drive for U.S. employees.
"Forbes magazine last year named Portland and its surrounding area like Saco the most liveable city in America for things like high income growth potential and low crime rate so it's no wonder the area attracts smart and talented professionals," says Dennis Brink, T4G's Vice-president Team Recruitment. "T4G's history is locating across Canada where smart people want to live so it's natural to begin our U.S. expansion in Maine."
B.J. Carter is T4G's Managing Director, U.S., and a former head of a U.S. division of a large technology consulting company that created more than 100 IT jobs in Maine. With established entrepreneurial drive akin to T4G culture, Mr. Carter will have a particular focus on energy, health, government and utilities sectors in the U.S.
"In Halifax, Saint John, Moncton, Toronto and Vancouver, T4G has proven its business model of building high performance teams that provide critical business solutions in all areas of information delivery," Mr. Carter says. "Our aim is to do the same here in the United States, beginning in Maine and growing from there."
Mr. Carter is responsible for driving the strategy and executing on the U.S. plan to grow both new customers and T4G's overall revenue. As he gets started and as U.S. talent is recruited, he will rely on existing Canadian teams to deliver services and solutions for new clients he brings to T4G.
Over the past 15 years, including the technology sector's implosion at the beginning of the decade and general economic malaise since 2007, privately-held T4G has recorded revenue growth year after year.
