Canadian Armed Forces to honour Royal College and members for "distinguished service"

OTTAWA, May 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Media representatives are invited to attend the official presentation of the Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. General Tom Lawson, Chief of the Defence Staff, will present the award to Royal College President Cecil Rorabeck, OC, MD, FRCSC, and CEO Andrew Padmos, MD, FRCPC.

The Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service is awarded by the Chief of the Defence Staff on behalf of the Canadian Armed Forces to recognize outstanding service performed by persons or organizations outside the active military community. It is awarded for service of a rare and exceptionally high standard, which accrues great benefit to the armed forces as a whole.
