Canadian Artists to Perform at Masquerade for Mental Health

OTTAWA, Sept. 5, 2017 /CNW/ - Her Excellency Sharon Johnston is pleased to announce that Dragonette, Séan McCann, Andee, UNITY Charity, IsKwé and Damien Robitaille are among the Canadian artists who will take part in a concert during the Masquerade for Mental Health, on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Rideau Hall, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

These talented artists will perform live to show their support to the cause and speak openly about mental health. They will be joined on-stage by former Canadian Football League player and Bell Let's Talk spokesperson Étienne Boulay. The concert will be hosted by Montréal TV personality Geneviève Borne.

An Event to Learn, to Share and Take Off our Masks
During this unique event made possible through the support of Bell Let's Talk, the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and the Honourable Margaret McCain, the grounds of Rideau Hall will be transformed into a lively fair where the public will be invited to take part in various activities and interactive platforms and to enjoy a live concert. All activities are free of charge.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of mental health and to engage the general public, particularly youth, in a dialogue on the importance of mental health.

Mental Health Community Zone
Rideau Hall Grounds

Bringing together more than 40 mental health organizations from across the country, the Community Zone encourages the public to engage with mental health partners in an interactive setting. The zone will feature mental health organizations providing a wide breadth of information from how to support and care for loved ones, to empowering young people to promote their own well-being as well as others.

Guests will be invited to create their own masks and to wear them for the evening portion of the masquerade.

Rideau Hall grounds

A live concert, featuring Dragonette, Séan McCann, Andee, Unity Charity, IsKwé and Damien Robitaille, will encourage the public to speak openly about mental illness. During the evening, guests will be invited to take off their masks as a symbol of acceptance and solidarity.
