Canadian Business Press and Magazines Canada Announce Winners of the 58th annual Kenneth R. Wilson Awards Français
TORONTO, June 7, 2012 /CNW/ - The winners of the 58th annual Kenneth R. Wilson (KRW) Awards for business press journalism were announced this evening at a gala at The Carlu in Toronto, presented by CDS Global. Several hundred guests from Canada's magazine publishing industry gathered to see Gold, Silver and Honourable Mention awards handed out in 20 written, visual and special categories from a field of 152 nominations from 57 business-to-business (B2B) magazines. Alberta Oil won the coveted title of Magazine of the Year. The award for Website of the Year went to Finance-Investissement.com.
Marketing won the Gold awards for Best Cover ("Twitter") and Best Issue ("RIM"), and led all publications with 4 Gold and 2 Silver awards.
Les Affaires won 3 Gold Awards, followed by CAmagazine (2 Gold, 3 Silver) OHS Canada (2 Gold, 2 Silver) and Precedent (1 Gold, 2 Silver).
The most decorated individual writer was Chris Powell, whose feature "RIM Marketing Survival Guide" (Marketing) won Gold in Best Profile of a Company and Silver in both Best Feature Article and Best News Coverage.
Creative Director Barb Woolley won 3 awards. With Miki Arai she swept Gold and Silver in the category Art Direction for a Complete Issue, with the Gold for Precedent ("Now You See Her, Now You Don't") and the Silver for UTSC Commons. With Dominic Ayre, Barb Woolley also won Silver in Art Direction for an Opening Spread or Complete Feature (Precedent).

Wilson Awards.
