Canadian Business Press Announces the Winners of the 60th anniversary Kenneth R. Wilson Awards Français
TORONTO, June 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Canadian Business Press is proud to announce the winners of the 60th anniversary Kenneth R. Wilson Awards for Canadian business-to-business magazine publishing. From nearly 550 submissions nationwide, the KRW Award judges nominated 174 submissions from 69 different B2B publications. Gold, Silver and Honourable Mention awards were presented in 22 written, visual, digital and special categories during this evening's gala at the Grand Banking Hall at One King West in Toronto, hosted by Allan Britnell, managing editor of Renovation Contractor and president of the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors.

The winner of the 2013 Kenneth R. Wilson Award for Magazine of the Year—Professional is BCBusiness, published by Canada Wide Media Ltd.: Tom Gierasimczuk (publisher and editor); Cathy Mullaly (art director).

The winner of the 2013 Kenneth R. Wilson Award for Magazine of the Year—Trade is Retail News, published by the Canadian Gift Association: Tom Foran
(publisher); Erica Kirkland (editor); Underline Studio (art direction).

Award Highlights include:
Two first-time participants and nominees won top awards tonight: Construire magazine won the Gold medal for Website of the Year and SRI Magazine took home the Silver medal for Best Art Direction of a Complete Issue. Leading all magazines with a total of 5 awards and 14 honourable mentions, CAmagazine took home both the Gold and Silver awards in the following categories: Best Illustration and Best Professional Article. Finally, Canadian Grocer's Lindsay Maclachlan won the Gold award for Best Art Direction of an Opening Spread/Complete Feature and the Silver Award for Best Cover.

The Gold award for Best Cover of 2013 went to Up Here Business, for its June Oil and Gas Issue cover "Let's Talk About F**cking", by Michael Ericsson, Guy Quenneville and Chris Windeyer.

Best Issue
The Gold award for Best Issue of 2013 went to CMA Magazine, for "The change Issue."
The Silver award went to University Affairs, for its November 2013 Issue.
Website of the Year
The award for Website of the Year went to acqconstruire.com, the website of Construire magazine: Éditions ACQ (publisher); LEEROY Agence Créative (web design).
Art Direction of a Complete Issue – Sponsored by Brainmetal
The Gold award for Best Art Direction of a Complete Issue went to Precedent, for "Summer 2013," by The Office of Gilbert Li and Melissa Kluger.
The Silver award went to SRI Magazine, for "On Target?" by Barbara Woolley, Kristine Do, Aaron Rinas and Gord Woolley.
Best Illustration
Both awards for Best Illustration went to CAmagazine:
Illustrator Ryan Snook won the Gold medal for "Funds without benefits" and Gérard DuBois won the Silver medal for "Devil in the details".
