Canadian Chiropractic Association Encourages Canadians to Straighten Up and Move in Support of World Spine Day on October 16, 2013 Français
TORONTO, Oct. 15, 2013 /CNW/ - The Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) is pleased to announce our support for World Spine Day (WSD) on October 16, 2013, as part of the Bone and Joint Decade's (BJD) Action Week.
The theme for this year's WSD is "Straighten Up and Move", highlighting the importance of prevention, proper posture, and activity to maintain or improve on spinal health. The objective of this campaign is to encourage discussion about spinal health and to promote an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to ease the burden that spinal disorders can cause. "Back pain and other musculoskeletal conditions can significantly affect a person's quality of life, and we are ready to support the BJD in creating awareness and providing information on chiropractic care as part of the solution", says Dr. Jeff Warren, DC, Chair of the CCA.
The WSD campaign was created by the BJD - The Global Alliance For Musculoskeletal Health, to bring healthcare providers across the world together to provide the public with information to create awareness around the prevention and effective management of spinal disorders. Canadian chiropractors believe in the work of the BJD and support their vision to "Keep People Moving" through the WSD initiative. The WSD campaign is also intended for patients, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, associations, governments and interested others.
The BJD has created a World Spine Day toolkit to help interested participants get involved and reach out to their communities. Marketing materials, outreach opportunities and other resources are accessible online.
