TORONTO, Feb. 27, 2019 /CNW/ - Distributel Communications Limited commends the federal government and the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) for proposing a consumer-focused policy direction to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC.)

ISED has issued a proposed policy direction to the CRTC aimed at promoting competition, affordability, consumer interests, and innovation. The policy direction will provide Canadian consumers with the choice in telecommunications service options that they deserve.

"The proposed policy direction represents another strong measure taken by Minister Bains to ensure Canadian telecommunications policy serves to promote competition, innovation and the interests of Canadian consumers."
