TORONTO and MONTREAL, Feb. 29, 2016 /CNW/ - Fiera Capital Corporation (the "Manager"), the manager of Canadian Convertibles Plus Fund (the "Fund") (TSX: CCI.UN), announces that the Fund will settle its expiring forward agreement (the "Forward Agreement") on March 9, 2016 which is the scheduled termination date of the Forward Agreement. After March 9, 2016, the Fund will continue to pursue the Fund's investment strategy directly without the Forward Agreement.
The Fund currently obtains exposure to the portfolio (the "Portfolio") of securities held by Diversified Convertibles Fund (the "Reference Fund") through the Forward Agreement. The Portfolio is comprised primarily of convertible debentures of Canadian issuers. Following the termination of the Forward Agreement, the Fund will invest directly in securities similar to those currently held in the Portfolio. The aggregate management fee received by the Manager from the Fund will remain the same as received from the Fund and the Reference Fund prior to the termination of the Forward Agreement.
The Fund's declaration of trust will be amended in accordance with its terms to reflect the termination of the Forward Agreement, changes to the Fund's investments objectives and other necessary amendments associated with the termination of the Forward Agreement. On February 5, 2016, the Manager obtained exemptive relief from the Autorité des marchés financiers from the requirement to obtain unitholder approval to change the investment objectives of the Fund.
