CANADIAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION HONOURS DR. VLADIMIR VUKSAN WITH CHARLES H.
BEST AWARD

EDMONTON & TORONTO, Oct. 22 /CNW/ - The Canadian Diabetes Association is pleased to present Dr. Vladimir Vuksan with the 2010 Charles H. Best Award.  The award was presented to Dr. Vuksan at a special awards ceremony which was part of the Association's Annual General Meetings held during the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) / Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (CSEM) Professional Conference held in Edmonton, October 20-23.

"I am most grateful and truly honoured to have received this prestigious award, especially as it represents recognition of the importance of nutrition and complementary medicine" said Dr. Vladimir Vuksan. "The credit of the award should really go to my exceptional research team and to my colleagues, an international network of people, including diabetologists, scientists, agronomists, and food industrialists.  It is my hope that through our work some ancient treatments brought from all over the world may one day become mainstream therapies for the treatment of modern diseases such as diabetes."

The Charles H. Best award recognizes a healthcare professional who has made a significant difference across Canada towards improving the quality of life of individuals living with diabetes.
