Canadian En[tour]preneur Experience wraps up in Ottawa - Minister Chagger welcomed almost 50 young Canadians from across the country to learn about entrepreneurship in Canada's tourism industry Français
OTTAWA, Aug. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Canada's tourism industry is an economic driver from coast to coast to coast and is the largest employer of young Canadians. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting this important industry—to creating new opportunities, stronger growth and more well-paying, middle-class jobs.
To help encourage Canada's next generation of tourism entrepreneurs, the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister of Small Business and Tourism, welcomed a group of 47 young Canadians, aged 18–24, to Ottawa for the first-ever Canadian En[tour]preneur Experience. This group of passionate young entrepreneurs from across Canada spent two days learning about the industry. The learning opportunities involved hands-on experiences at famous Ottawa landmarks, group work and presentations by leading coaches and mentors.
Participants and industry experts also discussed challenges and opportunities in the sector, ways to promote tourism in the digital age, and other resources to help attract the next generation of young travellers.
