TORONTO, Feb. 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Beginning today, Global is giving Canadian viewers a special online preview at GlobalTV.com of Awake, its new midseason drama. Also available on the Global Video App for iPad™, iPhone™ and iPod Touch™ users, the reality-bending drama that deftly explores the intriguing portrayal of the alternate realities makes its highly anticipated network debut on Thursday, March 1 - 10pm ET/PT on Global.

After Detective Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs, Harry Potter, The Patriot) wakes up from a car accident, he learns the that his wife (Laura Allen, Terriers) died in the crash; but then he wakes up a few days later to realize that his wife is very much alive and his son (Dylan Minnette, Lost) died in the accident. Michael goes back to work solving crimes while alternating between realities - one moment he and his wife are grappling with having another child to replace their loss, and the next moment he finds himself as a single father who's attracted to his son's tennis coach (Michaela McManus, The Vampire Diaries) to fill the void from the loss of his wife.

Also starring in the series is Steve Harris (The Practice) as Detective Isaiah 'Bird' Freeman, Wilmer Valderrama (That 70s Show) as Detective Efrem Vega, Cherry Jones (24) as Dr. Evans and BD Wong (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as Dr. Lee.
