Canadian Family Businesses Honoured
OAKVILLE, ON, March 31, 2016 /CNW/ - The Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) announced that Sutton Financial Group, a family owned financial planning firm based in Saskatoon is the recipient of the national CAFE Family Enterprise of the Year Award for 2016. Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm in Kelowna, BC and Fisher Transport Ltd. in Shubenacadie, NS were also recognized as national finalists in the annual competition. The Family Enterprise of the Year Award was established in 1986 to recognize and celebrate the importance of family enterprise which constitutes an estimated 80% of all business worldwide and 70-90% of global GDP. Previous recipients of the prestigious award include Rogers Communications, E.D. Smith & Sons Ltd. and Beau's All Natural Brewing Company.
Sutton Financial Group was founded by Bob Sutton in 1990 to provide objective and reliable advice to clients in the pursuit of financial security and peace of mind. Bob believed that if you treated people with respect and put their interests' first then success follows. Bob's son Stuart and Jay Stark joined the firm over a decade ago, followed by Tim and Andrea Hansen and most recently Bob Seel.
All three deserving family enterprises will be honoured at a spectacular gala held May 17, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary, AB featuring a special 'fireside chat' with Andrew Molson of the Molson Brewing family.
