Canadian Financial Guru to Address 2013 Graduates
NORTH BAY, ON, May 27, 2013 /CNW/ - Canadore is hosting its Convocation Ceremonies for the Schools of Business and Management; Culinary Arts; Language, Access and Preparatory; Media, Design and Dramatic Arts; and Sport and Recreation on May 29.
Guest speaker Patricia Lovett-Reid, host and chief financial commentator for CTV News Channel, will be speaking to approximately 300 graduates.
Lovett-Reid is a highly respected Canadian financial guru and the host of The Pattie Lovett-Reid Show on the CTV News Channel. She coaches viewers on how to save money, stretch their income, and get the biggest bang for their hard-earned money. For the last decade, Lovett-Reid, has been a regular guest commentator on BNN and other Bell Media channels. Lovett-Reid is a Certified Financial Planner, former Senior Vice-President at TD Waterhouse Canada Inc., and co-author of several national best-selling books. The Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC) recognized Lovett-Reid with the 2009 Donald J. Johnston Award for her outstanding contribution to the profession of financial planning in Canada. Lovett-Reid received 2007 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ Award in the Trailblazers and Trendsetters Category.
"Ms. Lovett-Reid has been courageously open about questioning the advice she's given her own children when it comes to higher education," said George Burton, President of Canadore College. "She recognizes the valuable role that colleges play in preparing the leaders of tomorrow to have a positive impact on the Canadian economy."

The ceremonies are being held at the College Drive Campus (100 College Drive) on May 29 at 10 a.m. The remaining Convocation Ceremonies will take place on:

May 31, 10 a.m. - Community Justice and Police Studies; Information Technology; Office Administration; Trades and Technology
May 31, 2 p.m. - Aviation Technology
