Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University in Association with National Geographic Entertainment Announce the Canadian Premiere of A Cosmic Picture/Arcane Pictures Film JERUSALEM Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch

The First-Ever Giant Screen 3D/2D Film to Soar Above the Holy Land
A Spectacular Cinematic Journey that Explores the Intersection of History, Science, and Religion

TORONTO, Sept. 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University (CFHU) in association with National Geographic Entertainment (NGE), is pleased to announce the Canadian Premiere of the highly anticipated Giant Screen movie release, JERUSALEM, on Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, in Gatineau Quebec.  All proceeds from the Premiere will be going to support joint Ottawa University/Hebrew University of Jerusalem medical research projects.

JERUSALEM is an original production from Cosmic Picture and Arcane Pictures in association with CFHU and NGE. Film Producers are Taran Davies, George Duffield and Montreal-based filmmaker Daniel Ferguson, who also wrote and directed JERUSALEM. The film was also executive produced by the late Jake Eberts, Montreal-born legendary producer of academy award-winning films including Chariots of Fire, Gandhi, and Driving Miss Daisy. In 2011, Mr. Eberts was the recipient of the CFHU Key of Knowledge award for his outstanding work in disseminating knowledge to so many through his numerous film productions.

Narrated by renowned British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, JERUSALEM gives audiences a rare glimpse of the storied city and will enable movie goers to discover why this tiny piece of land is sacred to three major religions, as seen through the personal stories of Jewish, Christian and Muslim families who all call Jerusalem home.

Preceding the premiere of the film at 8:00 p.m., Canadian Friends of Hebrew University will host a cocktail reception starting at 6:30 p.m. The evening includes a post-movie Q & A with Daniel Ferguson, the film's writer, director and producer. About Daniel Ferguson, Producer, Writer, Director
Daniel Ferguson has worked on numerous films for IMAX and giant screen theaters. Most recently, he was Line Producer and Script Editor on Journey to Mecca, Co-writer and Associate Director on Wired to Win: Surviving the Tour de France, and Line Producer on Lost Worlds: Life in the Balance. Daniel graduated from McGill University with degrees in History and Comparative Religions.  Between 2009-2013, he made 14 trips to Jerusalem and spent 6 months living there with his family.
