Canadian Infertility Awareness Week
The Infertility Awareness Association of Canada brings to light the challenges of people living with infertility and pushes for improved access to medical treatment and adoption in all Canadian provinces.
MONTREAL, May 12 /CNW Telbec/ - The Infertility Awareness Association of Canada (IAAC), a prominent national charity which provides education and support to infertile Canadians, is once again preparing to bring together thousands of patients and healthcare professionals for the fourth annual Canadian Infertility Awareness Week (CIAW). Set to take place from May 16-22, the scale and scope of events this week are larger than ever before. As the number of individuals that are affected by infertility increases, so too does the need for information and community support.
Many of this year's events will highlight the need for funding infertility treatments. Quebec's full funding of three IVF cycles, added to Manitoba's recent announcement of a 40% refundable tax credit, have made this a hot national topic.
Featured events include Portraits in the Park in Kitchener, Ontario, on May 16th, which is a patient-initiated fundraiser for (IAAC), where individuals and their families can enjoy a professional photo session. For the first time CIAW will also feature webcasts designed to allow anyone with internet access the opportunity to participate regardless of their geographical location.
Further details on events being held during CIAW can be found at www.iaac.ca/en/upcoming events.
