Canadian LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce Presents Annual Business Leadership Awards
TORONTO, Nov. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - The Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) announces the recipients of its 2017 Business Leadership Awards.
As part of the CGLCC's mission to contribute to a thriving and inclusive Canadian economy, these awards honour those who have been instrumental in driving economic growth in the LGBT+ community.
- TD Bank Group, recipient of the National Corporation of the Year Award. This award acknowledges a company of 1,000 or more employees operating in at least three provinces or territories that has shown commitment to the LGBT+ community by providing programs and/or services specific to the LGBT+ community (including their own employees) and by helping LGBT+ businesses to grow and prosper.
- Freshco (under the leadership of Founder & CEO Mandy Rennehan), recipient of the LGBT+ Business of the Year Award. This award honours a company that is owned, operated, and controlled by an LGBT+ individual that has made a significant contribution to the LGBT+ community in Canada.
- Maura Lawless, The 519, recipient of the Business Leader of the Year Award. This award celebrates an individual in business who has made a significant contribution to the LGBT+ community in Canada
- Debra Quade, Kellogg Company, recipient of the Chair's Award. This award recognizes an individual that has made a significant contribution to the LGBT+ business movement in Canada and/or globally.
The awards were presented at the CGLCC's Annual Black & White Gala in Toronto.
