MONTREAL, Nov. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Thursday November 11, at 10:30 a.m., members of the Naval Reserve of Canada and 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group will assemble to commemorate the Armistice at the Croix du sacrifice monument, at the corner of Grande Allée and George VI Avenue.
Following the parade, at 12:30 p.m., 26 students from the Collège de Lévis will visit the Naval Museum of Québec, where they will meet 4 Veterans of the Canadian Navy, including Mr. Jules Blais, who was present aboard HMCS SEA-CLIFF on December 27, 1944, when they sank a U-Boat in the Gulf of St. Lawrence with HMCS ST-THOMAS (Stanislas Déry's ship) and saved the survivors. Mr. Paul-Henri Bouchard, Quebec's most decorated sailor (13 medals) and sporting 91 years of age, will also be present to talk with the Secondary V students of the Collège de Lévis.
