Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and the Atomic Energy Allied Council reach a new collective agreement

Minister Leitch congratulates both parties

OTTAWA, June 29, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and the Atomic Energy Allied Council on the renewal of their collective agreement.

The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). The FMCS provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.

• Canadian Nuclear Laboratories is Canada's largest nuclear science and technology laboratory and acts as a world leader in developing peaceful and innovative applications from nuclear technology.
• The collective agreement covering approximately 300 employees working at Chalk River and Deep River, Ontario, expired on March 31, 2014.
