TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2016 /CNW/ - The Canadian Online Publishing Awards (COPAs) have announced this year's finalists. The COPAs are in its eighth year and has grown to include all forms of media to recognize digital publishing excellence in Canada. Some of the finalists this year include Chez Soi, CPA Canada, CTV News Calgary, Hakai Magazine, KISS 92.5, Macleans, Planète F Magazine, Toronto Star, University Affairs, Vice News, Western Living and Winnipeg Free Press. For a complete list of finalists CLICK HERE.
The COPA Award winners will be announced at an awards party to be held at the Carlu in Toronto on November 7. As part of the festivities this year, a State of Digital Seminar will be held to have a look at the future roadmap for the industry in Canada, with an all-star speaker lineup representing key stakeholders in the industry for Ad tech, Publishing, Analytics and Advertisers. The speakers will be from Google, Indie88, Nielsen, and Calexis Advertising. A webcast of the seminar is also available.
Martin Seto, producer of the COPAs, states the industry is in a state of paradox as ad tech companies are becoming more magazine-like and magazines are becoming more ad tech-like. The seminar will explore this paradox.
