TORONTO, Sept. 17, 2015 /CNW/ - The Toronto Paramedic Association is proud to host the launch of the 3rd Annual Canadian Tour Paramedic Ride happening this Friday Sept. 18 2015 at Yonge/Dundas Square at 0900hrs.
Over 100 Canadian and American Paramedics are riding bicycles from Toronto to Ottawa over 4 days to honour the 38 Canadian Paramedics killed in the line of duty since 1988 and to raise funds to build a Paramedic Line of Duty Death monument in Ottawa.
There will be a formal ceremony with Toronto City Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam, Toronto Paramedic Services Chief Paul Raftis, CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn and various other politicians and EMS dignitaries.
The ceremony will culminate with the riders leaving Dundas Square and cycling through Toronto with an escort of Paramedic vehicles from several GTA Paramedic services and a full Toronto police escort.
This is going to be an incredible and important event to honour Canadian Paramedics.
