Canadian Royal Heritage Trust Celebrates Queen's Diamond Jubilee
TORONTO, July 13, 2012 /CNW/ - On Saturday, July 14th the Canadian Royal Heritage Trust (CRHT) will present Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee Medals to 27 recipients in a special ceremony at the Duke of Devon in downtown Toronto.
The medals will be presented by Major-General (Retd) Reginald Lewis, CM, CMM, CD, former Chief of Reserves of the Canadian Armed Forces. Nominated by the CRHT for their work for Canada's royal heritage and other contributions to Canadian society, some of the recipients are travelling from across Canada to accept their awards.
The CRHT is a national educational charity with a mandate to preserve, present and enhance the royal heritage of Canada, and as a partner for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Trust was authorised to nominate recipients of the medal to His Excellency the Governor General.
The Duke of Devon event begins at 4:00 p.m. with the medal presentations followed by a cocktail party.
