/CNW/ - Biologist
Glen Chilton
, author of The Curse of the Labrador Duck (HarperCollins,
Sep 2009
) is offering CAD$10,000 to anyone able to recover or prove the existence of a genuine stuffed specimen of the Labrador Duck, a bird that once resided in eastern
Canada
but has been extinct for over a century. The specimen must be one that the author has not already seen and included in the book.
The author does provide some hints for those inspired to embark on this quest, and has a warning for cheaters not to bother with fakes: "I've seen it all before." As for the
$10,000
reward, he says: "For the sake of science, I sincerely hope there are more stuffed Labrador Ducks that turn up."
