Canada Media Fund to showcase Canadian talent and content on Parliament Hill
OTTAWA, Nov. 21, 2016 /CNW/ - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) will host on November 22, 2016 a showcase event on Parliament Hill, bringing together the Minister of Canadian Heritage, the Honourable Mélanie Joly; her parliamentary colleagues; the on- and off-screen talent behind several Canadian productions; as well as audiovisual industry leaders and members of the public service. Rick Mercer (Rick Mercer Report) and Charles Lafortune (La Voix) will entertain guests at this event celebrating the success of Canadian TV and digital media.
Guests will be invited to interact with the talented Canadians who tell our stories to the world, including Allan Hawco (Frontier); Graham Wardle (Heartland); Kevin Hanchard and Ari Millen (Orphan Black); Barry Flatman and Samantha Wan (Private Eyes); Brittany LeBorgne, Heather White, and Maika Harper (Mohawk Girls); Fanny Malette (Mensonges); Jean Yoon and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim's Convenience); and Jamie Davis (Highway Thru Hell), as well as the teams behind La Voix, The Next Step, Odd Squad, Vikings and Yukon Gold.
Interactive stations featuring digital media productions ioTheatre, Fated and The Unknown Photographer will also give guests the opportunity to experience high-quality virtual and augmented reality developed by Canadian creators.
