Events to be Hosted in Cities Across Canada, Lorna Jane Clarkson Releases Fifth Book, Love You
VANCOUVER, Sept. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - On September 24, 2017, thousands of women will celebrate Active Nation Day around the world. For the first time ever in Canada, award-winning technical fashion brand, Lorna Jane will host events across the country to coincide with the launch of Lorna Jane Clarkson's latest book, Love You.
Lorna Jane, has recently launched in Canada and is available for purchase in Sport Chek stores across Canada and online at sportchek.ca
Active Nation Day is a movement created in 2012 by Australian technical fashion brand, Lorna Jane, to empower every woman to lead her best life through the Active Living philosophy and the daily practice of Move, Nourish and Believe.
"Lorna Jane's vision was to dedicate the last Sunday of every September to inspiring one another to move in a bid to fight the growing number of health issues facing the world today," explains Talia Beckett Davis, President of Canadian Women in Public Relations and Managing Director of Pink Pearl PR. "Worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980, with 39% of the adult population now overweight and 1.9 billion of the world's population not getting sufficient exercise."
To recognize and celebrate this day, Lorna Jane hosts events all over the world to encourage women to mark their commitment to Active Living by getting out and moving their bodies. This global movement was celebrated in over 11 countries last year with over 300 events registered by individuals for their local communities to join.
"Active Nation Day is a day when we can move as a nation and inspire those around us to do the same. We'd love women to download the free Lorna Jane app, move with a friend or group of friends, track their movements on the app and show that we can join together and celebrate being fit and healthy on Active Nation Day. Every step we take as a nation will be added to an international tally, so they can well and truly be a part of our global movement," said Lorna Jane Founder, Lorna Jane Clarkson.
