--Playtex® Fresh + Sexy Report: a definitive look at what's happening in - and out of - Canadian bedrooms--
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Almost one-quarter of sexually active Canadians (22%) have done the deed with more than one person at the same time. Another 29% would jump at the chance. One in ten Canadians (8%) have gotten down and dirty in a canoe. Yes, a canoe.
These are just some of the highlights of the Playtex® Fresh + Sexy Report, released today and available here. The Report is a definitive look at the sexual habits and attitudes of Canadians aged 18-49 and suggests that Canadians are busy as beavers and ready for more.
"We wanted to get the nitty gritty on what's happening in Canadian bedrooms for the launch of our new Fresh + Sexy™ wipes by Playtex®," says Sohana Samanta, Brand Manager of Playtex Feminine Care. "What did we learn? Canadians are adventurous in, and out of, the bedroom, and believe the best lovers in the world are from Canada."
No softwood lumber issue for Canadians:
Canadians believe their wood stacks up best, with over half (51%) believing the best lovers come from Canada. Other countries with well-rated lovers include, Italy (24%), France (22%), Brazil (17%) and Spain (13%).
Pitching a tent isn't the only thing Canadians are capable of in the great outdoors:
While one-in-ten Canadians admit to getting it on in a canoe, the majority consider themselves capable of the horizontal mambo without capsizing. More than half of respondents (55%) define themselves as Canadian by novelist Pierre Berton's definition: "A Canadian is someone who knows how to have sex in a canoe." This number rises to 63% in Atlantic Canada, where perhaps there are more opportunities to practice and perfect the technique?
Canadians crave a risky quickie:
The Playtex® Fresh + Sexy Report revealed that when Canadians watch a movie or TV scene with spontaneous sex in a public space, 47% wish it would happen to them more often, and many would consider acting out their own quickie-scene in real life - if there was an easy way to freshen up before (15%) and clean up afterward (24%). Additionally, 40% of Canadians believe feeling fresh and clean, head to toe, helps them to feel more uninhibited and outgoing during sex.
Canadians happy to go solo, but might need fresh socks:
One-quarter of Canadians (24%) show themselves some self-love a few times per month while another 13% do it daily. Men are more likely to go it alone at least once a day compared to women (21% versus 5%). To clean up after, tissue or toilet paper is the go-to solution for 45% of Canadians although alternate methods such as towels (15%), underwear (6%), socks (3%) and t-shirts (3%) are also used.
Clean is the new dirty:
When asked about turn-offs in the bedroom, 63% of Canadians believe bad body odour will turn things sour, with bad breath (58%) following closely behind. Another 35% of Canadians are turned off when they don't feel fresh and clean, and 35% are averse to poorly-groomed private parts.
Getting clean, before and after getting down and dirty:
Given the importance of being odour-free, it's no surprise that the vast majority of Canadians (85%) freshen up before getting intimate with their partner. More than half of Canadians (54%) shower before having sex with their partner, while 19% simply put on deodorant or antiperspirant and 12% put on perfume or cologne.
