TORONTO, Jan. 28, 2016 /CNW/ - The candidate nomination period for the Whitby-Oshawa provincial by-election closed at 2 P.M. (Eastern Standard Time) on Thursday, January 28, 2016.
There are 10 candidates for the by-election to be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016.

- Niki Lundquist - Ontario NDP
- Adam McEwan - Libertarian
- Elizabeth Roy - Ontario Liberal Party

- John Turmel - Paupers
- Greg Vezina - None of the Above Party
- Above Znoneofthe - Independent
Advance polls for the Whitby-Oshawa provincial by-election begin on Saturday, January 30, and are available through Friday, February 5, 2016. Advance polls are open from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. (Eastern Standard Time).
Special ballot voting continues at the Whitby-Oshawa returning office until Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 6 P.M. (Eastern Standard Time).
On Election Day, Thursday, February 11, 2016, voting locations will be open from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. (Eastern Standard Time). Eligible voters are reminded to bring their Notice of Registration Card and proof of identity or one piece of identification that includes both their name and residential address with them to vote. A detailed list of acceptable identification documents is available at elections.on.ca.
