MISSISSAUGA, ON, Sept. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Candu Energy Inc. is pleased to announce it has reached collective agreements with all its workers represented by the Society of Professional Engineers & Associates (SPEA). SPEA-represented employees returned to work during the last week of August.
Candu's order book includes work related to the refurbishment of Ontario Power Generation's Darlington reactor, as well as life extension work in Argentina. Candu is pursuing new build reactor opportunities in Turkey, Argentina, Romania and Ontario. In China, Candu is working on the development of recycled uranium and thorium as alternative fuels for its Gen-III EC6 CANDU® reactors, and in the United Kingdom Candu is conducting a study into providing alternative full lifecycle approaches for managing that country's fissile material stocks.
