CanniMed Offers Seamless Transition for Veterans Who Rely on Medical Marijuana for Care
SASKATOON, Jan. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - For the Canadian Forces veterans who have benefited from treatment with medical marijuana for conditions including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or injury-related pain, the financial support they received under the previous Health Canada marijuana program will continue seamlessly under the new Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR) that comes into full effect on April 1, 2014.
"We are very pleased that Veterans Affairs Canada has recognized the need to continue funding medical marijuana for the veterans who are using it successfully," said Brent Zettl, CEO, CanniMed Ltd. "We are working to help veterans through a seamless transition to the new program so that there is absolutely no interruption of service."
To date, CanniMed Ltd. has seamlessly transitioned a handful of patients through to the new MMPR program.
