Partnership for development of Cannabis Career Training Program.
VAUGHAN, ON, June 13, 2018 /CNW/ - CannTrust Holdings Inc. ("CannTrust" or the "Company") (TSX: TRST), one of Canada's leading licensed producers of medical cannabis, announced the signing of an agreement with Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) to collaborate on the ongoing development of the university's non-academic Cannabis Career Training program.
Offered through KPU's Continuing and Professional Studies division, a suite of non-credit cannabis courses were first offered in 2015. The courses were created to assist with the establishment of a knowledgeable and educated workforce for the quickly expanding medical cannabis industry. CannTrust, in partnership with KPU, will assist in the continued development of the Cannabis Career Training program, with the aim of providing students with the necessary work skills required for the industry's continually evolving demands. Delivered in an online format, the program is easily accessible and is in extremely high demand all across Canada.
The CannTrust-KPU partnership will afford students the opportunity for work placements. CannTrust will also offer employment to a number of qualified candidates. All of this will bring an infusion of new expertise and talent to the Company and help position CannTrust for continued growth and success.
Students enrolled in the Cannabis Career Training program can participate in multiple thirteen-week online course modules. Courses will be available in Plant Production & Facility Management, Marketing, Sales, Drug Development and Financing. The courses are led by experts from across all facets of the industry, including science, horticulture and marketing.
