Cantor Fitzgerald Canada Continues to Expand Across Research and Equity Trading
Adds Technology and Special Situations Research Analyst and Institutional Equity Sales and Trading Team
NEW YORK and TORONTO, Jan. 13, 2015 /CNW/ -- Cantor Fitzgerald Canada Corporation, part of the leading global financial services firm, Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P., today announced the expansion of its equity research analyst team with the appointment of Ralph Garcea as Managing Director and Senior Technology Analyst. In addition, Jonathan Samahin and Steven Duenkler join as institutional equity sales traders. Messrs. Garcea, Samahin and Duenkler will be based in Toronto and will report to Laurence Rose, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald Canada Corporation.

Mr. Garcea previously served as Managing Director and Head of Equity Research at Global Maxfin Capital Inc. Mr. Garcea has also held senior positions at Haywood Securities, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Scotia Capital. Mr. Garcea holds a B.S. in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto and an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
Previously, Mr. Samahin served as Equity Sales Trader and Vice President of Global Maxfin Capital Inc. Earlier, he held senior positions at Byron Capital Markets, Research Capital Corporation, and Fraser Mackenzie Limited. Mr. Samahin holds a B.A. in Economics, with a Minor in Mathematics, from Queens University.
Mr. Duenkler most recently served as Managing Director and Head of Equity Trading at Global Maxfin Capital Inc. Prior to this, he served as Senior Portfolio Manager at Sprott Asset Management and was the Founder and Managing Partner of Flatiron Capital Management Partners. Additionally, he has held senior positions at National Bank, Scotia Capital, and Burns Fry Limited. Mr. Duenkler holds a B.S. in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto.
