Captivating holidays: fun and free activities for the whole family at the
Électrium!
MONTREAL, Dec. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - Take advantage of the holidays to visit the Électrium, Hydro-Québec's electricity interpretation centre. For your enjoyment, we've added face painting for kids, a quiz and door prizes to our regular guided tour of the centre. Fun and surprises are guaranteed, free-of-charge!
During your visit, you'll discover electricity's many aspects, from the atom to hydroelectric generation. Our many models and interactive exhibits will inform and entertain as you learn about electricity's role in the human body and its reflexes, the origin of lightning and the Northern lights, the secrets of electric eels and how the Earth's magnetic field works. You can even test the speed of your reflexes.
Film screenings are also on the program, including the history of electricity in Québec, renewable energy and hydroelectric developments. For our younger guests, entertaining animated films tell the story of electricity's awesome journey from the power station to your home.
The Électrium is located in Sainte-Julie, near Exit 128 off Highway 30, in the Montérégie region.
Opening hours for the holiday period are as follows:
- December 22, 23, 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2010 - from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
