CARA Operations' Don Robinson elected to Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association board of directors
TORONTO, June 5, 2012 /CNW/ - The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association welcomes Don Robinson, President and CEO of CARA Operations, to its board of directors.
CARA, headquartered in Toronto, is one of Canada's largest restaurant companies with 700 locations nationwide under the brands Swiss Chalet, Harvey's, Kelsey's, Montana's and Milestones Grill & Bar. Robinson took on his current role at CARA in 2006 after more than 20 years of experience at Mars Inc.
Robinson is one of 30 industry leaders from across Canada who serve on CRFA's volunteer board of directors, which is chaired this year by Toronto restaurateur Donna Dooher of Mildred's Temple Kitchen. Directors aim to further CRFA's mission of helping members in every community grow and prosper.
Two other high-profile restaurateurs have also been elected to the CRFA board this year: Vikram Vij, the owner of Vancouver hotspots Vij's Restaurant and Rangoli, and Mike Yasinski, president of pub chain Hudsons Canadian Tap House which is well-established in Western Canada.
CRFA is one of Canada's largest business associations, with more than 30,000 members representing restaurants, bars, caterers, institutions and other foodservice providers. Canada's restaurant industry employs more than one million people in communities across the country.
