Carleton Cup - Skate! Run! Drink! Raising hell and money for Cystic Fibrosis!
OTTAWA, Jan. 20, 2015 /CNW/ - The Carleton Cup, known to many as "The Ultimate Canadian Triathlon" has 3 legs: Skate Run Drink. The Cup is back for its 26th year taking place on the world's largest skating rink; the Rideau Canal.
Racers meet Saturday January 24th upstairs at the Aulde Dubliner between 5pm and 7pm to sign-in. Participants then make their way to the Rideau Canal for the first leg of the race.
First leg: Skating a pre-determined length of the Canal. Racers will obtain the all-important "drink ticket" from a Carleton Cup official at the half way mark to prove they skated the required distance.
Second leg: Running/walking from the Canal, back to the Aulde Dubliner (62 Williams Street) in the Byward Market. Racers hand in their drink ticket in exchange for a beverage of their choice (Most people choose the official beer, Labatt 50) The race is over as soon as the wet hits their gullet!
