Carole Taylor joins the Board of Directors of BCE Inc.
MONTREAL, Aug. 4 /CNW Telbec/ - The Board of Directors of BCE Inc. today announced the appointment of Carole Taylor, O.C., as a Director of BCE Inc. and Bell Canada.
"We are very pleased that Ms. Taylor has accepted our invitation to join the BCE Board," said Thomas C. O'Neill, Chair of the Board. "Her extensive experience in business and public policy as well as her proven leadership abilities will serve our shareholders well."
Ms. Taylor is currently a Senior Advisor for Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Ms. Taylor has also served as a Director on a number of Boards and is currently a Director of the Toronto Dominion Bank. From December 2008 to January 2010, Ms. Taylor served as the Chair of the Federal Finance Minister's Economic Advisory Council. From 2005 to 2008, Ms. Taylor was the provincial MLA for the riding of Vancouver-Langara and served as the British Columbia Minister of Finance.
During her extensive career, Ms. Taylor has been a journalist for both CTV and CBC, an alderman for Vancouver City Council, Chair of both the Vancouver Port Authority and the Vancouver Board of Trade, and Chair of CBC/Radio-Canada. Ms. Taylor was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in May 2001.
