CARP Welcomes Ignatieff Proposal for National Supplementary Pension Plan but
Still Waiting for Comprehensive Pension Reform and Pension Summit

TORONTO , Dec. 8 /CNW/ - CARP welcomes the first proposal for a national pension plan to allow Canadians to save adequately for their own retirement as a very important first step but cautions against policy making by news release, calling instead for comprehensive pension reform through a properly constituted Pension Summit of Finance Ministers at which retirees are substantively represented.
